Former National Sports Authority Board Chairman Kwadwo Baah Agyemang has admitted that Black Stars coach Otto Addo has "shamed" him with his recent transformation, particularly following Ghana's emphatic 5-0 victory over Central African Republic.
The former sports administrator acknowledged Addo's significant improvement since the Mali game, stating "He has changed a lot since the Mali game. In other words, he is learning."
Despite praising Addo's evolution, Agyemang expressed reservations about the coach's capacity to lead Ghana against world football's elite nations.
"We will surely be at the World Cup, but Otto Addo can't lead us to face teams like Spain, Italy, Portugal, Brazil and Argentina," he remarked, suggesting Ghana should consider a coaching change despite Addo's successful qualification campaign.
Addo is poised to become the first Ghanaian coach to qualify the national team for two World Cups, having previously guided the Black Stars to the 2022 tournament. His current qualifying campaign record stands at six wins from seven games, with the team needing just one point from their final match against Comoros to secure their place at the 2026 World Cup.
The coach continues to face scrutiny despite his impressive statistics, with Sports Minister Kofi Adams recently describing him as "lucky" while expressing concerns about his performance.
