Semper Fi FC made a big statement on Sunday as they introduced themselves to their new home base in Teshie with a commanding 5-1 win over community club Sambofo in a trial game at the McDan Sports Complex.
The pre-season encounter not only served as preparation for the 2025/26 Access Bank Division One League season but also as a chance to connect with the people of Teshie.
Semper Fi wasted no time showcasing their quality, racing into a 4-1 lead by halftime with sharp attacking play and clinical finishing. The second half saw them add a fifth to seal an emphatic win, leaving fans buzzing with excitement over what lies ahead this season.
Sunday’s fixture carried added importance as it marked the beginning of a new chapter. Having spent most of last season playing home matches in Tema due to the unavailability of the Koforidua Sports Stadium, Semper Fi have now officially relocated to Accra, with Teshie’s McDan Sports Complex set to be their permanent home ground.
Fans in yellow Semper Fi shirts filled the stands, drumming, singing, and dancing to create a vibrant atmosphere. The entertainment continued off the pitch, with Teshie-based artistes Apaatse and Daadaa Yohane thrilling supporters with halftime performances.
Semper Fi begin their Division One League campaign at home against True Democracy in Zone III. After last season’s mid-table finish, Semper Fi are determined to push higher this term, buoyed by their new base and the strong welcome from Teshie fans.
