Ghanaian defender Jan Gyamerah was on target for SV Elversberg as they secured an emphatic 4-1 victory over Eintracht Braunschweig in the German Bundesliga II on Saturday afternoon.
The 30-year-old, who joined Elversberg ahead of the season, registered his first goal for the club in what was only his fifth appearance since the campaign kicked off.
Elversberg, who have made a flying start to the season and currently sit top of the Bundesliga II standings, opened the scoring through Younes Ebnoutalib after just 12 minutes following fine work from Lukasz Poreba.
The hosts hit back quickly, with Turkish forward Erencan Yardimci levelling in the 20th minute.
But Elversberg responded almost immediately, as Gyamerah restored their lead with a composed finish, marking a memorable moment for the Hamburg-born defender.
Ebnoutalib grabbed his second of the afternoon in the 79th minute to extend the advantage before midfielder Frederik Schmahl sealed the victory with a strike four minutes from time.
Gyamerah’s contribution underlines his growing influence at the club as he looks to play a key role in their promotion push this season.
His versatility and experience in German football continue to make him a valuable asset for the ambitious side.
