Ghana forward Frank Acheampongs netted his twelfth and thirteenth goals of the season after scoring a brace to inspire Hena FC to a thumping 5-2 victory at Wuhan Three Lions.
The 31-year-old opened the floodgates for the visitors in a rampant first half after heading home from a Lucas Maia assist in the eleventh minute.
Lu Yongtao doubled the advantage 13 minutes later before adding his second four minutes after the break.
Acheampong put the game beyond the hosts moments later after running through the middle before rounding up Three Lions' goalkeeper with a clever touch and firing home into an empty net with his right foot.
Things went from bad to worse for Wuhan Three Lions after Felipe Cordoso scored Henan's fifth five minutes after Acheampong's strike.
Meanwhile, the hosts produced a late fight but it was not enough as Darlan and Long Wei's goals were only a consolation for fans of the home side.
Acheampong is having one of his most prolific campaigns, scoring 13 goals and producing two assists in 25 matches for the Chinese Super League outfit.
The bronze-winning former Ghana U20 star is expected to make a return to the Black Stars after a long absence.
