
Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku has charged Premier League referees to maintain the highest standards of professionalism and integrity as the new football season begins on Friday, September 12, 2025.
The President delivered this call during a virtual meeting with match officials, joined by Executive Council Member and Chairman of the Referees Assessors and Classification Panel Frederick Acheampong, Referees Manager Alex Kotey, and Referees Committee Chairperson Christine Enyonam Zigah.
Addressing the referees, President Simeon-Okraku underscored their crucial role in preserving the credibility of Ghana’s top competitions.
“Let me be clear and without any form of ambiguity: I will not stand in the way of justice if any of you engage in unprofessional or unethical conduct,” he declared.
“Integrity is a key demand, and we will not compromise on anything that threatens the momentum, energy, and gains made ahead of the new campaign. Prepare thoroughly and deliver performances that satisfy and earn the admiration of all stakeholders.”
He expressed confidence that with the GFA’s enhanced welfare packages and improved financial conditions, referees are well-positioned to deliver a flawless season. “With your full cooperation, we can achieve the best Premier League season ever, free from needless controversies,” he added.
Executive Council member Frederick Acheampong commended the GFA’s investment in referee welfare and urged officials to match these improvements with uncompromising professionalism and discipline throughout the season.
