Callum Hudson-Odoi says there has already been a noticeable difference in training since new Nottingham Forest manager Ange Postecoglou arrived at the City Ground.
The Australian coach replaced Nuno EspÃrito Santo on Tuesday and oversaw his first training session with the squad on Wednesday, setting the tone ahead of a crucial Premier League clash away to Arsenal this weekend.
Hudson-Odoi, who was born in London to Ghanaian parents and has long been linked with a potential switch of international allegiance, spoke about the immediate impact of Postecoglou’s arrival.
“Yeah that was a session! I can't even lie to you,” he told talkSPORT, reflecting on the intensity of Wednesday’s workout.
The 24-year-old winger added that the players were already working on understanding Postecoglou’s ideas and methods.
“For us, it's building that relationship with him early and getting ideas of what he wants to bring into the team,” Hudson-Odoi said.
“When the manager comes in, you have to make sure that you get that quickly because games happen fast and there's one coming on Saturday (away at Arsenal).”
The former Chelsea man also stressed the importance of collective readiness as Forest prepare for life under their new manager.
“So for us, it's just making sure we're ready, we're prepared and make sure that everyone just knows what he wants us to do, and hopefully apply it in the game,” he added.
Hudson-Odoi’s comments underscore the sense of urgency at Nottingham Forest as Postecoglou seeks to stamp his philosophy on a squad fighting for stability in the Premier League.
