Fulham have secured the signing of teenage forward Jonah Kusi-Asare on loan from Bayern Munich, with the young striker set to continue his development in the Premier League under Marco Silva.
The 18-year-old arrives in London after extending his contract in Germany and will be aiming to make his top-flight debut in England when Fulham resume against Leeds United after the international break.
Kusi-Asare, born in Sweden to Ghanaian parents, is regarded as one of Europe’s most promising attacking prospects.
His heritage has attracted attention from both national setups, but his focus for now remains on breaking into senior football at the highest level.
He recently featured as a substitute in Bayern’s emphatic 6-0 victory over RB Leipzig, further evidence of his growing reputation within the Bundesliga.
The decision to sanction his loan move was influenced by Bayern’s recruitment of Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson, who has been brought in to serve as backup to Harry Kane.
With limited minutes expected under Vincent Kompany this season, the German champions opted to allow Kusi-Asare to test himself in a more competitive environment.
After putting pen to paper at Craven Cottage, the teenager expressed his delight at the opportunity.
“I’m really excited to join Fulham. It’s a fantastic club with great supporters, and I can’t wait to get started, work with my teammates and give everything for the Club,” he told the club’s media.
Bayern sporting director Christoph Freund praised Kusi-Asare’s progress and insisted the club would be monitoring his growth closely.
“Jonah has developed very well with us over the past year and a half and was able to make his professional debut in his first full season in Munich.
"He has outstanding potential and should now gain further valuable experience at the highest European level. We will be closely monitoring him and are convinced that he will take the next steps in his development and continue to mature at Fulham.”
