American-Ghanaian midfielder Derrick Jones Acheampong has set sight on winning the Major League Soccer with Columbus Crew.
The 28-year-old midfielder watched from the bench on Saturday as Crew split the points with New York Red Bulls at the Sports Illustrated Stadium, keeping their play-off hopes alive.
Despite making few appearances this season, the former US youth international remains positive of his side's chances.
"For me, obviously, we are a team and we know we have to win games now. We started good, we have a good squad and this does not bother us because we know what we have," he told GHANASoccernet.
"We will just keep working," he added.
Crew last won the MLS in 2023, with Ghanaian midfielder Yaw Yeboah scoring the winner against Los Angeles FC. Before their triumph in 2023, a group of Ghanaian players, including Harrison Afful and Jonathan Mensah - then captain of Crew - won the competition in 2020.
Jones wants to join the tall list of successful Ghanaian footballers in the United States, having already won the Leagues Cup with the Gold and Black.
"For sure, like I said we have a good squad and we are going to take it a game at a time and to the play-offs and see what will happen," said Jones.
Jones and his teammates travel to Atlanta to face Atlanta United in their next game.
