German second-tier side VfL Bochum have confirmed the loan signing of German-born Ghanaian forward Farid Alfa-Ruprecht from Bayer Leverkusen for the 2025/26 season.
The 19-year-old striker, who previously featured for Manchester City’s U18 side, joins Bochum in search of regular first-team football to aid his development. He will remain with the club for the entire campaign.
“Farid Alfa-Ruprecht is a highly skilled young player with real pace; his dynamism is exceptional,” said Bochum sporting director Dirk Dufner. “He will take Sammy Bamba’s place in our squad, ensuring we maintain quality in attack.”
Alfa-Ruprecht, a German U18 international with four caps and one goal, expressed his excitement at the move. “This is the next step for me. The 2. Bundesliga is tough competition, but I’m ready for the challenge.”
Eligible to represent Ghana through his heritage, Alfa-Ruprecht has previously played for Germany at U16, U17, and U18 levels, keeping both international options open.
