
Ghana forward Jerry Afriyie was handed his first start at RAAL La Louviere in the Belgium league but the newcomers suffer defeat to KV Mechelen following a late collapse in a dramatic encounter at Achter de Kazerne.
The 18-year-old forward, who join La Louviere on loan in the summer transfer window from Al Qadsiah, started in place of Oucasse Mendy after impressing on his debut against champions Union Saint-Gilloise last week.
The Black Stars forward lasted the entire during as La Louviere conceded twice in injury time to lose 3-2 in the thrilling encounter.
The visitors had conceded halfway into the first half after Rob Schoofs had scored for Mechelen.
RAAL La Louviere fought back strongly in the second half with Ortwin de Wolf and Redouane Halhal's own-goals giving the visitors the lead.
However, the hosts responded after Lion Lauberbach levelled in the 90th minute before netting the winner five minutes later.
Afriyie will travel to Ghana for the upcoming FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Mali next week.
The four-time African champions could seal their spot at the tournament in North America with victories in the September international break.
