Ghanaian midfielder Edmund Addo had a night to remember as OFK Beograd earned a 3-1 away win over ÄukariÄki in the Serbian Super Liga on Friday evening.
Addo started the game with confidence and delighted the traveling supporters with his work in midfield before being replaced in the 67th minute. His biggest moment came early in the second half when he broke forward on a counterattack and set up Stefan ScepovicÌ, who drove in a fine strike from distance to seal the win.
The match had been lively from the start, with Miljan MomÄilovicÌ opening the scoring in the 18th minute after a corner, followed by Aleksandar DermanovicÌ’s header just before the break. ÄukariÄki’s night grew worse when Ismael Maiga was sent off in the 42nd minute. Despite the setback, Slobodan TedicÌ briefly gave them hope with a goal in the 51st minute, but Addo’s assist two minutes later crushed the comeback.
The victory was a proud moment for Addo, who showed his quality in both defense and attack. OFK Beograd now prepare to face Novi Pazar on September 13.
