Former Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Ibrahim Sannie Daara, beleives Derrick Köhn can end Ghana’s “left-back problems” after receiving his debut call-up.
The 26-year-old has been named in Black Stars' 24-man squad for the upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Mali scheduled for next month.
The Union Berlin defender made 27 appearances and scored twice during last season’s loan spell with Werder Bremen.
“Derrick Köhn will be the most influential foreign-born player for Ghana since Kevin-Prince Boateng,” Sannie posted on social media.
“Three years ago, I asked Otto why he was not called for the Black Stars. Otto said the talented player was not yet ready. Köhn will permanently solve our left-back problems.”
