Bibiani Goldstars defender Vincent Atinga is undoubtedly confident about his outfits’ chances heading into the Champion of Champions clash this weekend.
The Miners, who emerged as champions of the Ghana Premier League last season will play host to FA Cup winners Asante Kotoko are the Duns Park on Sunday, August 31 to usher in the new season, which kick start on September 12.
Ahead of the game, the former Hearts of Oak defender has affirmed his outfit will triumph over Kotoko to secure the Champion of Champions title.
“We are preparing very well for the game. We will beat Kotoko to win the Champion of Champions trophy. I have won it before, so I just have to talk to my teammates and share the little experience I have in the game, then we are good to go. Kotoko is a big club no doubt about that, but we are also Goldstars” he told the club’s media.
Goldstars recently secured the GHALCA Top 4 title, with Asante Kotoko finishing bottom following an unimpressive performance at the tournament.
The high-stake clash between Goldstars and Kotoko also forms part of the teams’ preparation for the upcoming CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup campaigns.
Goldstars will face JS Kabylie in the Champions League, while Kotoko takes on Nigeria club Kwara United next month.
