Rising Ghanaian midfielder Caleb Yirenkyi is set to be rewarded with a call-up to the Black Stars for next month’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Mali, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively report.
The 20-year-old, who has been a standout performer for Danish Superliga side FC Nordsjaelland, further enhanced his reputation with commanding displays in the recently held Unity Cup.
Yirenkyi received a lot of plaudits for his displays against Nigeria and Trinidad and Tobago where the Black Stars finished 3rd in the Afro-Caribbean football tournament in London in May.
His consistency, energy, and maturity in midfield did not go unnoticed by the national team’s technical handlers, who are keen to integrate him into the senior setup.
Yirenkyi, a graduate of the famed Right to Dream Academy, has already become a key figure at club level, with his vision, composure, and tactical intelligence earning him plaudits from both fans and pundits.
His ability to dictate play, win duels, and launch quick attacking transitions has made him one of the most exciting young Ghanaian prospects in Europe.
Black Stars coach Otto Addo is expected to name his squad this week, with Yirenkyi likely to be included as Ghana look to strengthen their midfield options.
Should he make his debut, the youngster will join a new wave of emerging talents being groomed to secure Ghana’s return to the World Cup.
