Assistant coach of Nations FC Johnson Smith has reiterated his outfit desire to annex the Ghana Premier League title next season.
The Abrankese-based outfit bottled the Premier League title last season, with Bibiani Goldstars emerging as champions for the first time in their history.
Nations FC concluded the 2024/25 campaign with 60 points, securing second place on the table. Following a three-point deduction over the abandoned week 33 Premier League fixture against Basake Holy Stars, Nations FC plummet to fifth, pushing them out of the top 4.
As the team gear up for the upcoming 2025/26 football campaign, the former assistant coach of Kotoko insists his outfit will compete for the ultimate next season.
“No club wish to place bottom in the league. As in the case for every club, Nations FC will compete to finish on top of the table next season” he told Kessben FM in an interview.
Nations FC have been impressive since earning promotion to the Ghana Premier League two season ago. In their maiden campaign, the team finished seventh, while placing fifth on the table in the immediate past campaign.
