Red-hot Daniel Afriyie Barnieh has expressed excitement after scoring a brace to propel FC Aarau to top of the table in the Swiss second-tier league.
The Ghana international scored twice as Aarau defeated Stade Laussane 3-0 at Stade Brugglifeld to keep their 100% start to the campaign intact.
The in-form forward, who joined Aarau in the summer transfer window after mutually agreeing to terminate his contract with FC Zurich, looks to have rediscovered his goal-scoring form with his third and fourth goals after five matches.
"Plus three points. We keep going," he posted on social media after the game.
The former Hearts of Oak talisman opened the scoring in the 22nd minute with a well-taken finish to put Aarau in control.
He doubled his tally midway through the second half, striking in the 63rd minute to all but seal the points for the home side.
Valon Fazliu added a stoppage-time goal to complete a dominant performance and extend Aarau’s unbeaten run to five matches.
Barnieh lasted the entire duration following a Man of the Match performance on Monday night.
