Former Bibiani GoldStars midfielder Frank Amankwah is close to joining Berekum Chelsea ahead of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season, just days after terminating his contract with Karela United.
The 31-year-old played a pivotal role in GoldStars’ title-winning campaign last season, making 26 appearances and delivering consistent midfield performances. He parted ways with the champions at the end of the season in search of a new challenge.
Amankwah signed a two-year deal with Karela United late last month but cancelled the contract within weeks for undisclosed reasons, leaving him a free agent.
He has been in talks with Berekum Chelsea for some time and is now awaiting a final decision from the club’s hierarchy.
In the meantime, the experienced midfielder is keeping fit with personal training and remains open to offers from any club that can meet his terms.
