The Duns Park in Bibiani is shaping up ahead of the 2025 Champion of Champions clash between league winners, Goldstars and FA Cup champions, Asante Kotoko.
In a high-stake clash, the Miners will take on the Porcupine Warriors on Sunday, August 31, officially kicking off the 2025/26 Ghana football season.
The playing surface is currently in top condition, offering both Goldstars and Kotoko equal opportunity to grind results in the highly competitive clash.
Thousands of fans are expected, with security measures and festivities planned to mark the occasion. It promises a spirited curtain-raiser between two of Ghana's in-form sides.
This is the first time the Super Cup fixture will be hosted at the home ground of Bibiani Goldstars, marking a major milestone for the club and the Western North Region.
Goldstars earned the right to host after clinching their historic first Ghana Premier League title in the 2024/25 season, completing a remarkable campaign.
Their opponents, Asante Kotoko, enter the clash as Ghana FA Cup holders, aiming to start the new season with silverware and spoil Goldstars’ home celebration.
The Champion of Champions also serve as a good preparatory ground for both teams ahead of their Africa campaigns.
Goldstars are set to represent Ghana in the CAF Champions League, while Kotoko competes in the Confederation Cup competition next season.
Both teams have already discovered their opponents. While Goldstars take on Algerian giants JS Kabylie, Asante Kotoko will battle it out against Nigeria opposition, Kwara United.
