Mohammed Kudus says Tottenham Hotspur will channel the lessons from their UEFA Super Cup loss to Paris Saint-Germain into their upcoming Premier League fixture against Burnley.
The 25-year-old Ghana international will make his league debut for Spurs when they host the returnees at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on the opening day of the season.
Spurs, last season’s Europa League champions, were on the brink of upsetting the European titleholders at the Stadio Friuli on Wednesday night, surging to a 2-0 lead before PSG mounted a dramatic late comeback.
“We’re very disappointed to lose the game in the end. This is a big lesson to stay focused for the whole 90 minutes,” Kudus said.
“I’m really, really proud of the team for their work ethic and their energy⦠just the last part where we need to keep full concentration. We take this as a lesson. We have a game on the weekend, and our full focus is on that.”
The Ghanaian midfielder impressed on his competitive debut following a summer move from West Ham United, nearly scoring with a glancing header that struck the post.
