Bibiani GoldStars head coach Frimpong Manso has underlined preparation as the most crucial factor for success in the CAF Champions League, as the club gears up for its first appearance in the continental competition.
GoldStars earned the right to represent Ghana after securing their maiden Ghana Premier League title last season. In anticipation of their Champions League debut, the club has made a number of reinforcements to strengthen the squad.
However, Manso believes building a competitive side is not solely about acquiring big names.
“What we have, we’ve added some to it, but then we still need to talk to them. It’s something that is on earth. Every year, a new team comes inâsome get further, some drop out early,” he said.
“You see, it depends on the way you also prepare yourself. That also counts a lot. So for me, I think we are new to the competition, but we will make the best out of the competition.”
GoldStars will find out their preliminary round opponents on August 12.
