Enock Kwateng couldn't hide his excitement after completing a move to Bulgarian side Botev Plovdiv.
The experienced French-born Ghanaian full-back, with over 100 Ligue 1 appearances for Bordeaux and Nantes, sees this switch as a fresh start.
"I am very happy to sign with this historic club in Bulgaria. I have heard a lot of good things about the club, the city and the fans. I want to thank the president and the coach for giving me the opportunity to shine again. I am very grateful. I thank my teammates and the fans for the warm welcome," he said.
"I already feel at home. I have had difficulties in the last months, but now I am ready to give everything for this shirt and to convey the trust and love that Botev gives me. I will bring my experience and qualities to the team,"
His most recent stint saw him turning out for Turkish outfit Ankaragucu, and now he arrives in Botev Plovdiv with hopes of becoming a key figure in the club’s defensive unit.
The club confirmed the signing, expressing confidence that the 28-year-old will bring leadership and balance to the team. Enock Kwateng is expected to make his debut when Botev Plovdiv travel to face Cherno More at the Ticha Stadium in Varna.
With domestic competition heating up, Botev’s addition of an experienced defender could prove crucial in the long run.
