[caption id=attachment_1250895 align=alignnone width=998] Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah[/caption]Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah says the Black Queens must win the 2024 Womens Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) to earn the respect they deserve across the continent.The midfielder, who scored in Ghanas 4-1 win over Tanzania that sealed their place in the quarterfinals, insists lifting the trophy is the only measure of success for the team. The result ensured Ghana finished second in Group C behind South Africa and booked a last-eight meeting with Algeria.Boye-Hlorkah, who opened her tournament account in that decisive fixture, believes the Black Queens are capable of making a strong statement by going all the way. She noted that Ghanas performances so far have been positive but stressed the importance of finishing the campaign with silverware.[This tournament will only be successful for me] when we take the trophy, she told Joy Sports. I think we deserve it. I think we deserve the respect from African football.I want to give this continent so much respect, but I also want to gain it. The only way you gain it is by performing, by showing who we are.Ghana will face Algeria in the quarterfinals on Saturday, July 19, at the Berkane Stadium. The Black Queens last reached the semifinals in 2016.
