Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors and Ghanaian midfielder Nana Boateng go separate ways
Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors FC have confirmed the departure of Ghanaian midfielder Bismark Nana Adjei Boateng, bringing an end to his two-year stint with the K League 1 outfit.Boateng joined Jeonbuk in December 2023 from Romanian side CFR Cluj in a transfer valued at around 2 million Euros. His arrival was met with high expectations due to his extensive experience across various leagues, having previously played in Spain, Norway, the United States, and Romania. His versatility and tactical discipline made him a valuable asset in Jeonbuk's midfield setup.Throughout his time in South Korea, the 31-year-old made a total of 52 appearances in all competitions.Although his attacking stats show just one goal and one assist, Boatengs contribution went beyond numbers. He was primarily deployed as a defensive midfielder, tasked with breaking up opposition play, providing cover for the backline, and maintaining the teams shape and tempo. In the ongoing 2025 season, he featured in five league matches, four games in the AFC Champions League, and two domestic cup fixtures. However, as the club seeks to refresh its squad for the remainder of the season, they have opted to terminate Boatengs contract by mutual consent. Now a free agent, Nana Boateng is available for transfer and will be looking to bring his experience and midfield solidity to a new club.
