Black Queens head coach Kim Lars Bjorkegren says there were plenty of positives to take from Ghanas 2-0 loss to South Africa in their opening game of the 2024 Womens Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).Despite the defeat to the defending champions, Bjorkegren remains optimistic about Ghanas chances in the competition, stressing that his side showed encouraging signs.We were playing against the previous [champions], so maybe its the toughest game you can play at this tournament, he said after the match.Like I said, we did many good things and we will take the good things with us into the next two games. Im pretty sure we are going to make the playoffs, which is important.The Swede is confident that the team can bounce back in their next group matches and qualify for the knockout stages.Ghana will next face Mali on Friday, July 11, before wrapping up their Group C campaign with a clash against Tanzania.
