Innovare Limited, in collaboration with the Cyber Security Authority (CSA), has organised a cybersecurity awareness programme and community donation exercise at Gomoa Dawurampong in the Central Region.

The joint initiative forms a key part of Innovare’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) drive and aligns with activities marking National Cyber Security Awareness Month (NCSAM) spearheaded by the CSA.
Formal courtesy and arrival
The Innovare delegation, led by the company’s Chief Executive Officer C.K. Bruce, arrived in the vibrant township of Gomoa Dawurampong at about 11:00 a.m. The community was already in a festive mood ahead of the 2025 Gomoa Dawurampong Ahobaakese Festival, with many residents adorned in colourful attire.

As a show of respect for local customs, the delegation first paid a courtesy call on Nana Kokor Mensah V, Odzikro of Gomoa Dawurampong, and Nana Adedziwa Odaakwa II, Obaahemaa of the community. The formal visit set the tone for the day’s activities.

Cyber-awareness exercise
The awareness exercise began at the Gomoa Senior High Technical School, where consultants from Innovare – including Dzidzor Amenuvor Klutse, Jefferey Thompson and Alvin Quartey – delivered practical training sessions on basic digital defence techniques and responsible online behaviour.
The training equipped students with essential skills such as identifying phishing attempts, implementing strong password management practices and protecting personal data from social engineering attacks.

Nelson Herald Donko, Senior Manager-CSA, further engaged students with real-life case studies highlighting the dangers of unsafe online practices. He cautioned against sexting, sextortion and financial extortion, stressing the importance of exercising caution when meeting online acquaintances in person.
Impressed by the students’ participation and enthusiasm, Mr. Donko pledged to establish a Cyber Security Club at the school to prepare students for the annual National Cyber Security Challenge – a nationwide competition that promotes online safety awareness among Senior High Schools.
Addressing the students, C.K. Bruce encouraged them to remain committed to their studies and plan their careers early. He also urged them to explore cybersecurity as a promising career path, given the growing demand for skilled professionals in the field.
To motivate them further, he announced five paid internship slots for final-year students who gain admission into tertiary institutions. This gesture received warm applause from the students.
At the session’s end, Innovare presented a monetary donation to the school as part of its contribution to promoting digital literacy among young people.

Commitment to community welfare
Reaffirming its commitment to community welfare, the Innovare team also made a donation to Gomoa Dawurampong Polyclinic.
Kenneth Ato Bilson-Ogoe, Business Development Manager at Innovare, led the presentation and commended staff for their dedication to healthcare delivery. The donated items included essential medical and sanitary supplies such as face–masks, hand sanitisers, disinfectants, methylated spirit, toiletries, liquid soap, Veronica buckets and bed mats, among others.
Receiving these items on behalf of the facility, Ofosu Prosper – Human Resource Manager at the Polyclinic – expressed deep gratitude for the gesture.
“We are profoundly grateful for this generous donation. We promise to utilise these items effectively to serve the good people of Dawurampong with the quality of care they deserve,” he said.
Community recognition and formal closing
At 3:00 p.m., a traditional durbar was held at the town square to mark the 2025 Gomoa Dawurampong Ahobaakese Festival. The event brought together chiefs, elders and community members to celebrate unity and progress, while also serving as a platform for reviewing local development efforts.

During the ceremony, citations of appreciation were presented to Innovare Limited and the Cyber Security Authority by the community in recognition of their outstanding contribution to cybersecurity education and community development.
Expressing gratitude on behalf of the community, Nana Efua Odaawa Adadziewaa II, Obaahemaa of Gomoa Dawurampong said: “Your support for cybersecurity education and community development has truly enriched our celebration and inspired many in attendance. Your efforts remind us that innovation and compassion can work hand in hand to create a brighter future. On behalf of the chiefs, elders and people of Gomoa Dawurampong, I say ‘Ayekoo!’ and thank you for being a valued partner in our journey toward digital empowerment and growth”.
