
On Thursday, October 16, the streets of Accra will transform into a vibrant celebration of food, culture, and community spirit as renowned culinary innovator Chef Abbys leads The Big Street Feast’ in honor of World Food Day.
With the rallying theme, “Wherever You Are, Food Will Find You,” the event will feature food trucks and stands stationed across key neighborhoods, ensuring that over 15,000 people can enjoy a free, hearty meal.
This one-of-a-kind feast aims to break barriers by delivering food directly to the people, making the city one massive, distributed community gathering.
Chef Abbys, who was recently named to the 2025 TIME100 list of the world’s most influential people, emphasizes that this celebration is not just about feeding people, but about using food to unite, nourish, and restore hope. “Food is more than survival, it is memory, dignity, culture, and love”, says Chef Abbys. The initiative ensures that no one is left behind, as food will be shared with love and dignity, regardless of where you are.
