… rolls out in New York, London, Accra, Kumasi, and other Subsidiaries in Africa
Africa’s Global Bank, United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc, has announced the expansion of its Bank Verification Number (BVN) enrollment services to its key international offices in New York United States, London United Kingdom, Accra and Kumasi in Ghana and other UBA locations across Africa.
The BVN enrollment service, which is part of the bank’s broader commitment to deepen diaspora financial inclusion, enhance customer experience, support regulatory compliance and strengthen customer security frameworks, will provide customers with comprehensive protection through advanced security measures, robust identity verification protocols, accelerated transaction processing, and a seamless compliance framework.
UBA’s Group Deputy Managing Director, Chukwuma Nweke, who spoke on the service, emphasized the bank’s unwavering dedication towards maintaining the highest security standards while ensuring that Nigerians from all walks of life, whether residing at home or abroad, are not denied access to essential financial instruments and services.
“This initiative underscores our dedication to maintaining the highest security standards while ensuring seamless access to banking services for our valued customers across the globe,” Nweke stated.
Continuing, he said, “We recognize that the Nigerian diaspora represents a vital economic force, and it is our responsibility to ensure they have the same level of access to secure banking services as our domestic customers. “By bringing BVN enrollment services directly to our international offices, we are eliminating barriers that have previously prevented diaspora Nigerians from fully participating in the country’s financial ecosystem.”
UBA’s Group Head, Corporate and Marketing Communications, Alero Ladipo, highlighted the user-friendly nature of the customer enrollment process, which has been specifically designed to prioritise convenience and operational efficiency for international customers.
She said, “The process is as seamless as ever. Customers can schedule appointments by visiting the UBA Group website and scheduling an appointment at our designated international offices or by visiting any of the designated branches in New York, London, Accra and Kumasi. Once enrolled, customers receive their BVN via SMS within 48 hours of successful enrolment which ensures minimal disruption to their daily activities.”
Ladipo emphasized the importance of this initiative for the broader diaspora community, adding that: “We strongly urge all Nigerians living abroad who have not yet obtained their BVNs to take advantage of this new initiative.”
She also stated UBA Group’s plan to expand this service to all 24 locations across the world.
