The maiden edition of Channel One TV’s AgriFair has concluded to widespread acclaim from stakeholders, exhibitors, and patrons.
Held from June 20 to 22 at the Efua Sutherland Children’s Park in Accra, the three-day event celebrated Ghana’s agricultural potential by convening farmers, Agritech innovators, agro-processors, policymakers, and consumers under one roof.
The AgriFair followed the Citi Business Forum on Agriculture and introduced a unique farm-to-basket model, eliminating middlemen and allowing consumers to buy fresh produce, livestock, and fish directly from farmers at discounted rates.
According to Frema Adunyame, Head of Events and Partnerships at Channel One TV, the model guaranteed “quality goods at discounted prices” and proved to be a game-changer for both farmers and consumers.
Beyond sales, the fair featured live Agritech demonstrations, vibrant market stalls, and “Agric Clinics,” where farmers and agri-entrepreneurs received tailored consultations and technical support aimed at boosting productivity and sustainability.
Strong institutional support and enthusiastic turnout
The event drew significant government participation. On the opening day, Deputy Minister of Agriculture John Dumelo commended Channel One TV for the bold initiative. Subsequent days saw visits from Minister of Food and Agriculture Eric Opoku, Deputy Minister of Trade Sampson Ahi, and CUTS International West Africa Director Appiah Kusi Adomako, who praised the organizers for delivering a “well-structured and impactful event.”
Cultural performances added colour and flair to the fair, with a Saturday and Sunday appearance by the Nkyinkyim Band blending entertainment with education and commerce.
Sponsors and Stakeholders Applaud Impact
Speaking to Channel One Newsroom, Ghana EXIM Bank CEO Sylvester Mensah described the AgriFair as “a powerful and practical platform” that empowered small businesses and created tangible commercial value.
“Some vendors ran out of stock. People are asking when the next edition will happen,” he revealed.
Sponsors, including Twellium Ghana Ltd., Development Bank Ghana (DBG), and Agri-Impact Group, expressed satisfaction with the event’s turnout and brand engagement. Emilia Gyasi of Twellium described the patronage as “overwhelming” and hinted at an expanded presence in future editions. DBG’s Anita Solomon also highlighted the fair’s value in facilitating direct engagement with agribusinesses:
“It helped us tailor financial solutions to real needs.”
Khebab Experience
The Khebab Village at the AgriFair 2025 served up a sizzling feast, offering patrons and exhibitors a full-on Khebab Experience with everything from beef, pork, goat, and chicken to sausage and even octopus—expertly grilled and beautifully served.
A true meat lover’s paradise, it was the ultimate stop for flavour, fire, and unforgettable bites.
Looking Ahead
With hundreds of exhibitors, brisk trade, and strong consumer interest, the 2025 AgriFair has emerged as more than a trade exhibition—it is now a strategic platform for agricultural transformation and economic inclusion.
General Manager of Channel One TV, Bernard Avle, emphasized the fair’s broader mission:
“The AgriFair is here to deepen food security, encourage innovation, and build a resilient agricultural sector.”
