Chinese-owned global electronics giant TCL, with a significant footprint in Ghana over the past decade, has officially launched its expansion into the West African market.
The company is also set to introduce a dynamic new line of innovative products, further solidifying its position as a leader in consumer electronics and home appliances.
With a strong foothold in Ghana for over 10 years, TCL has built a reputation for delivering high-quality, affordable and technologically advanced products tailored to African consumers.
This expansion marks a significant milestone in TCL’s mission to enhance digital lifestyles across West Africa, especially Côte d’Ivoire, Togo and Burkina Faso, offering state-of-the-art televisions, smart devices, air conditioners and other consumer electronics designed to meet local needs.
General Manager of TCL Middle East and Africa Business Group (MEABG), Sunny Yang, highlighted the brand’s focus on cutting-edge technology, particularly artificial intelligence (AI) across its range of products.
She emphasised that the 2025 West Africa Regional launch initiative, dubbed ‘Beyond With TCL,’ reinforces the brand’s commitment to innovation, strategic partnerships and market expansion across Africa.
“TCL is focused on AI technology, which is not only for one product but for the whole range of TVs, air conditioners and more. We have recorded about 50 percent growth in our operations in West Africa over the last two to three years, and we are determined to keep the growth moving up,” she said.
Marketing Manager for Ghana and Côte d’Ivoire, Dennis Fixon, presented TCL’s new lineup of advanced TVs, smart air conditioners, washing machines and refrigerators. He highlighted the smart features and energy-saving technologies that make these products stand out.
Managing Director of Electroland Ghana Limited (EGL), Nour Seklaoui, expressed gratitude to the many distinguished guests, saying: “This evening is more than a product showcase; it is a celebration of partnership, progress and possibility. TCL’s success in Ghana was due to strong collaboration with local dealers and partners”.
Taking his turn, TCL’s Regional Sales Director for West Africa, Daniel Ray, shared an overview of TCL’s global growth, stating that the company recorded a 24.6 percent year-on-year growth in the Middle East and Africa (MEA). “We became the number one ultra-large screen TV brand worldwide and the leading mini-LED TV brand.”
He highlighted that TCL will be a global partner of the Olympic Games from 2025 to 2032.
“We will deeply integrate science and technology in sports nations and promote sustainable development,” he said.
He also emphasised TCL’s global outreach strategy, which includes partnerships with the Arsenal Football club in the United Kingdom.
A special highlight of the evening was a birthday surprise for TCL’s Brand Ambassador and Arsenal midfielder, Thomas Partey, who was presented with a birthday cake and gifted the new 98C6K QD-Mini LED TV by TCL.
The Black Stars’ Captain was also taken on a tour of the exhibition space and introduced to TCL’s latest technologies.
In return, Thomas Partey also presented the TCL management executives with approximately five signed Arsenal jerseys as a gift.
