Globetrotting Epicurean Proprietor and celebrated Head Designer at B’Exotiq, the fashion house she founded some twenty years ago, Beatrice ‘Bee’ Arthur, uses her flair for art, style and interior design as inspiration for every venture she undertakes.
Recently, Bee has become an upcycling advocate, championing the use of recycled materials in fashion and art, and actively promoting creative upcycling solutions to address waste pollution in Ghana.
Combining a passion for fashion with a commitment to social activism, Bee uses her creativity and designs to spark conversations about gender issues and environmental concerns.
Lead of the Fashion Domain at the Ghana Culture Forum and a jury member for the 2025 Kuenyehia Prize for Contemporary Art, Bee has grown to become an activist and eco-feminist, exploring the intersection of feminism and environmentalism.
Her focus is on how waste, particularly plastic and fast fashion, disproportionately affects women, dedicating her work to addressing social and environmental issues.
Her latest assignment, still on till July 5, is a curatorial work on an exhibition titled ‘Echoes of the Landfill’, which opened on World Environment Day at the Museum of Science and Technology in Accra. It showcases some of her work made from waste materials, alongside those of other incredible artists.
