
The Honorary Consular Corps of Ghana (HCCGH) has held elections to select executive committee with working committees for the period 2025-27.
The elections were held under the leadership of the Dean of HCCGH, Dimitrios Avraam, Consul of Belgium and its Deputy Dean, Subhi Accad, Consul of Mexico.
Kwame Acquah, Consul of Seychelles continues as the Secretary for the Year 2025 and Antonio Fernandes, Consul of Portugal as the Secretary for the period 2025-2028. Felix Gomis, Consul of Cabo Verde elected as the Treasurer. The Executive Directors are Ashok Mohinani, Consul of Uruguay and Nicholina Annor-Adjei, Consul of New Zealand.
The GoG and local authorities relations committee has Hilton John Mitchell, Consul of Trinidad and Tobago as the chairperson. Thomas Okyere, Consul of Botswana would guide the Committee for Motivation and Coordination for Membership and Nickie Akosa, Consul of Sweden leading the Social Events and Community Projects.
At the event held at the Mobility Showrooms in Accra, Mr. Avraam said that the group seeks to promote the role of Honorary Consuls by maintaining excellent and reliable partnerships in building capacity for productions and technological transfers to meet the developmental goals set up by the leadership of Ghana.

The active members of HCCGH contribute immensely to the bilateral trade and cultural promotions with their representation in the country whilst continuing to support the communities. As part of community service projects for the year 2024, HCCGH engaged with donations for two organisations in Accra.
Mr. Avraam concluded, wishing the elected officers well in their respective endeavors and believing that the rich experience gathered by the members with their dedicated service, will take the Honorary Consular Corps of Ghana to a notch higher with the motto
The HCCGH has a membership of 32 out of the 41 Consuls accredited to Ghana, representing countries from all continents. The Corps is a member of the World Federation of Consuls (FICAC) of 75 country members with 13 countries from Africa and has United Nations recognition as an NGO with ECOSOC Status.
Hon Consuls and members of the Corps being professionals, executives and very often investors in areas such as manufacturing, agriculture, mining, energy, tourism & hospitality, trade, oil & gas, construction & consultancy services, real estate, transport & logistics, media and legal expertise, do contribute to the growth of the Ghanaian Economy.
It is important to underline the role of HCs in attracting FDI in the country and in leading very successful business entities, thus contributing immensely to the wealth of the country and providing employment to thousands of persons.
