Self-acclaimed evangelist Patricia Asiedua, popularly known as Nana Agradaa has responded to a defamation suit filed against her by Gospel artiste, Empress Gifty Adorye.
Court documents shared by Hopeson Adorye, husband of the gospel artiste on May 20 indicate that the plaintiff, Empress Gifty is praying the court to award her an amount of GHC20,000,000 for damages for slander and libel.
Gifty in her suit claims that Agradaa made unsavoury remarks against her which damaged her reputation for which reason she filed the suit.
In a video shared on on Instagram, Wednesday, May 21, 2025, Agradaa noted that she can’t be intimidated by a legal suit.
The former priestess noted that she would also retaliate by filing a law suit against the husband of Empress Gifty, Hopeson Adorye in international court as the politician has also made defamatory comment against her in the past.
She said she would demand compensation in dollars which will be more than what Empress Gifty is currently demanding.
“Gifty Empress, let me tell you, you can go to court 100 times or 200 times, I don’t give a damn. I am not part of those persons you frighten them with legal matters. If you sue me 200 billion, I will sue your husband more.
“I will sue your husband in international court and take dollars and change into cedis and gave you the balance in Cedis. The court is there for everybody, I can also go to court…Your husband has also disrespected me,” Agradaa stated.
It can be recalled that in the suit filed by Empress Gifty Adorye, she has requested the court for a perpetual injunction against the former fetish priestess to restrain Agradaa, “her servants, agents, privies, and assigns howsoever from publication of such words or any of them or similar words to that effect.”
Additionally, she asked for “an order for the defendant to remove all videos and audios in which she spoke words defamatory of the plaintiff from all her social media platforms”.
Empress Gifty Adorye wants Agradaa to settle “costs, including lawyers’ professional fees.”
