
The Minister for the Interior, Alhaji Muntaka Mubarak, has sworn into office the reconstituted Governing Board of the National Identification Authority (NIA).
The newly appointed Board, chaired by Mr. Moses Afetsi Positive, has been entrusted with the crucial task of guiding the NIA in its mission to enhance and secure our national identification systems.
The members of the Board include:
Dr. Gifty Seiwaa Nyarkoo
Mr. Eric Coffie
Mr. Wisdom Kwaku Deku
Mr. Kwesi Afreh Biney
Mr. Philip Peter Andoh
Mr. Samuel Adom Botchway
Dr. Senanu Kwesi Djokoto
Mrs. Rosemary Parker
Dr. Alhassan Iddrisu
During the swearing in ceremoniny on Thursday May 8, the Minister charged the Board to work diligently towards fulfilling the NIA’s mandate of providing a secure, inclusive, and reliable identification system for all Ghanaians.
In a Facebook post after the ceremony, the Asawase Lawmaker said, “I expressed full confidence in their capabilities and encouraged them to support the Authority in enhancing national security and promoting socioeconomic development through efficient identity management.
“In his remarks, Board Chairman Mr. Moses Afetsi Positive affirmed their commitment to the NIA’s objectives. He pledged to uphold principles of collaboration, integrity, and transparency throughout their tenure.
“The new Board is expected to offer strategic direction and oversight to ensure the NIA delivers high-quality, accessible identification services to all citizens.”
