
President John Dramani Mahama in accordance with Article 243 (1) of the 1992 Constitution and Section 20 (1) of the Local Governance Act, 2016 (Act 936) (as amended), has nominated 40 individuals to be appointed as District Chief Executives (DCEs) for the various districts in Ashanti Region.
Their nomination is subject to approval by their respective Assemblies.
Secretary to the President, Dr. Callistus Mahama and Local Government Minister, Ahmed Ibrahim announced the nomination of the DCEs in a letter dated May 6, 2025.
Ibrahim Yamba Nelson Issaka has been nominated for Ahafo Ano South East District, Benjamin Marfo for Amansie South and Frank Owusu Amoah for Offinso South.
The President further nominated Samuel Somuah as DCE for Sekyere Central, Joseph Amankwa as DCE for Kwabre East and Ben Abdallah Alhassan for Asokore Mampong.
