Award-winning Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido has shared how one of his new born twins has a striking resemblance with his late son, Ifeanyi.
In a recent interview with Ebro Darden on Apple Music 1, the singer reflected on the impact of Ifeanyi’s death on his life, describing how the tragedy forced him to slow down and focus on his family.
“That type of loss makes you just be like, ‘I’m out. I’m just going to chill, take care of my wife, take care of the family and get my head right,’” Davido shared.
According to Davido, the birth of his twins; a boy and a girl in 2023 brought healing to him and his family, giving them an overwhelming joy particularly because his baby boy bears resemblance to Ifeanyi
“The boy looks just like my son who passed. It is scary. It’s like literally him. We’re like, ‘Nah, it’s him. He came back,’” Davido said emotionally.
Ifeanyi’s death caused a great deal of pain and emotional distraught to Davido and Chioma, causing the artiste to step back from the spotlight and heal with his family.
But life in its own way brought an unending joy to the ‘Unavailable’ hitmaker when in October 2023, the couple welcomed twins; a boy and a girl, and left everyone stunned.
He described the experience of bouncing back from grief to being blessed with twins as nothing short of divine.
“To come back from that and be blessed with twins… it just shows God is real,” Davido added.
The singer says the experience has changed him deeply, making him more humble, more compassionate, and more driven to share love through his music.
