
President John Dramani Mahama in accordance with Article 243 (1) of the 1992 Constitution and Section 20 (1) of the Local Governance Act, 2016 (Act 936) has nominated 33 individuals for the position of District Chief Executive (DCE) in the Eastern Region,
The announcement was made in a statement on Tuesday, April 29, 2025 signed by Secretary to the President, Dr. Callistus Mahama and Local Government Minister, Ahmed Ibrahim.
These appointments are subject to approval by the respective District Assemblies.
The latest nomination of DCEs by the President reflects his government’s commitment to strengthening local governance and ensuring effective leadership at the district level.
Notable nominees are Kate Mawusi Babanawo for Kwahu Afram Plains North, Moses Tangmee for Kwahu Afram Plains South, and Ernest Owusu Ntim for Atiwa East, among others.
