
Tanzania clinched the boys’ title at the CAF Schools Football Championship after defeating Senegal in a dramatic penalty shootout.
Despite a heavy downpour at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium, both teams delivered an intense 40 minutes of action, which ended goalless, forcing the match into sudden death.
Tanzania ultimately prevailed 3-2 on penalties to successfully defend their crown.
Meanwhile, Ghana’s U-15 boys wrapped up their tournament on a high, staging a comeback to beat Uganda 2-1 and secure the bronze medal.
As champions, Tanzania will receive a $300,000 cash prize, with Senegal earning $200,000 for finishing second, and Ghana pocketing $150,000 for third place.
The four-day tournament showcased exceptional young talent, hinting at a promising future for African football.
