The Armed Forces Council is constitutionally mandated to advise the President on all matters relating to the administration and organization of the Ghana Armed Forces.
This includes oversight on appointments, promotions, and personnel welfare. The Council also plays a critical role in shaping strategic military policies and ensuring that the Armed Forces are adequately equipped and prepared to respond to national and international security needs.
The newly reconstituted Council is expected to convene regularly to chart a forward-looking path for the Ghana Armed Forces, particularly in enhancing its operational capacity, modernization, and institutional reforms.
