
Chief of Wassa Damang Nana Kwaku Armah II, has urged the youth to avoid drug addiction and prioritize their education to improve their future prospects and capitalize on potential job opportunities.
He made this call during a durbar held to celebrate his enstoolment as chief, following his successful completion of the community’s customs and traditions.
Hundreds of community members from Wassa Damang and surrounding areas demonstrated overwhelming support for Nana Kwaku Armah II, Chief of Wassa Damang, during his welcoming and swearing-in ceremony.
In his durbar address, the chief pledged allegiance to his people and emphasized the importance of unity and maintaining peace within the community.
He also charged the youth to focus on their education, emphasizing its importance in improving their future prospects and seizing potential job opportunities.
“The task ahead is challenging, but with your support, I’m confident of success. The development of Wassa Damang is my top priority. Our forefathers have laid the foundation, and now it’s our turn to build on it.”
“As parents, it’s crucial we prioritize our children’s education, explore available job opportunities, and focus on acquiring technical skills. If our wards can secure the necessary skills and knowledge, and job opportunities arise, I pledge to support them in any way possible.”
Nana Kwaku Armah II also cautioned the youth against drug abuse, something that it is becoming increasingly prevalent in the community.
He emphasized the need for parents to educate their children about the harmful effects of drug addiction, stressing that it is a critical time for collective action.
“There’s a pressing issue in our community that weighs heavily on my heart – the rampant drug addiction among our youth. It’s a trend that’s not only destructive but also suffocating the potential of our young adults. As a leader, I’m committed to tackling this menace head-on.”
“I’ll continue to urge parents to take an active role in safeguarding their children against drug abuse. If left unchecked, this trend threatens the very future of our community.”
Queen Mother of Wassa Damang Nana Akua Afriyie II, called on residents to unite behind their new chief, Nana Kwaku Armah II, and support his development agenda for the community.
She urged them to put aside their differences and come together in a show of solidarity, enabling the chief to effectively drive progress and development in Wassa Damang.
“My plea is for us to unite as one family and focus our energy on developing our community. This is not the time for unnecessary violence and hatred.
Instead, let’s rally behind Nana Kwaku Armah II and support him in realizing his vision for our community’s progress and prosperity.” She urged.
