
Ghana has officially begun its quest to qualify for the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, with the national Para Athletics team setting off for a crucial qualifying event in Morocco.
The team departed from Kotoka International Airport en route to Marrakech, where they will compete in the 2025 World Para Athletics Grand Prix. The competition runs from April 22 to 29 at the Marrakech Sports Stadium and serves as a key qualifying opportunity for the upcoming Games.
Joining the team in Morocco will be Mr. Samson Deen, President of the African Paralympic Committee and head of NPC Ghana, along with members of the NPC Ghana Board. Their presence underscores the significance of this event, as Ghana continues to invest in the development and global exposure of its para-athletes.
This campaign marks a major step forward in Ghana’s road to Glasgow 2026, reinforcing the nation’s dedication to inclusive sporting excellence on the world stage.
