President Akufo-Addo will return to Ghana on Wednesday, 27th June, 2018, and in his absence, the Vice President, Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, shall, in accordance with Article 60(8) of the Constitution, act in his stead.

President Akufo-Addo in March this year hosted the leadership of Togo’s opposition parties at the Flagstaff House in Accra in an attempt to mediate and find lasting solution to the political crisis in the neigbouring francophone nation.
There has been political tension in Togo since August last year as the Coalition of Opposition Parties is demanding the resignation of President Gnassingbe in a bid to bring the Gnassingbe dynasty to an end.
