Irate persons have blocked the Dawhenya-Afienya road on Friday to protest the poor nature of the passage.
The development has caused heavy gridlock on the busy road causing a lot of discomfort to commuters heading to work.
The irate residents are burning car tyres on the main road making it impossible for vehicles to move.
The police had to fire tear gas to disperse the demonstrators, according to Graphic Online. The residents of Dawhenya in the Ningo Prampram District of the Greater Accra Region, have been complaining about the bad nature of the Dawhenya to Afienya link road which they say has been neglected by successive governments.
The road is an easy connect from Dawhenya to the Akosombo road but it is in a bad condition.
Affected persons have taken to social media to register their displeasure.
Local officials are yet to comment on the situation.
