Lady Ps Pearl Ampofo Launches “The True Virtuous Woman”; expands P31 doctrine

The 1st lady of the Gracefields Evangelistic Ministries headquartered in the Ashanti regional capital Kumasi Lady Pastor Pearl Ruby Ampofo has begun a revolution to raise what she calls “the true virtuous women in the church.

Launching her maiden book to push this course, she noted that several women have limited themselves to the biblical Proverbs 31 woman who only focuses on home-making and playing her role as a mother and a wife.

Lady Pastor Pearl points out that important as those roles are, there are higher heights in the Kingdom that women should aspire to.

In her book forwarded by Lady Rev Adelaide Heward Mills the wife of the general overseer of the Light House Chapel, the Lady Pastor touches on the need for women to stand for the faith and demonstrate their love for God as shown by illustrious women in the Bible.

The book entails a series of inviting chapters including: The Classic Example Of A Virtuous Woman; The virtuous Woman Reassessed; The Exemplary Women and Rahab The Virtuous Woman?

Other interesting chapters in the book are the Women Who Loved Jesus; Proverbs 31 Versus Jesus’ Prototype; Manifesting Our Love For Christ and Uncovering The Secrets In Fervent Love.

Speaking to Ultimate News’ Ivan Heathcote – Fumador on the sidelines of the launch, Lady Pastor Pearl Ampofo explained, “the true virtuous woman, is a holistic woman who is not limited to taking care of herself, her home, her family and anything to do with herself. But she is a virtuous woman in the sight of God in the eyes of the New Testament, She is found in the female characters that Christ in a sense, asked us to emulate and that’s the dimension of the virtuous woman.”

Elucidating on the weightier matters in the lives of the Christian women, she made critical analogies of Mary and Martha hosting Jesus in their home

According to the Gospel of Luke: As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what he said. But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made.

She came to him and asked, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!” “Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, you are worried and upset about many things, but only one thing is needed. Mary has chosen the weightier matters and it will not be taken away from her.

Lady Pastor Pearl touched on a controversial subject of emulating the life of the commercial sex worker at Jericho Rahab who found herself in the genealogy of Jesus and also got quoted in the Hebrews 11 hall of fame.

She explained, “When you look in the hall of fame, I use a character like Rahab, a very unlikely character to be emulated. She loved God with all her heart and she openly expressed her love to the God of Israel even to the point of risking her life by allowing the spies to come into her home. in a way she had put her life on the line because in a sense, she had betrayed her own people for the sake of the God of Israel.”

Meanwhile some attendees of the book launch have already begun giving some good reviews about the book which they believe will cause a resounding change in mindsets and values among Christian women.

“I think I like the cover design and the title alone a true virtuous woman is really very catchy. We have always known that a virtuous woman is one who has got it all. one whose husband is proud to have her and one whose children are excited about her. So I want to know more about who this virtuous woman is because we have always known about the Proverbs 31 woman,” a young lady Ernestina Obeng Mensa told Ultimate News.

The title of the book did not deter men from purchasing the book. A lawyer Obeng Mensa indicated that, “I am a married man so beyond studying for myself, it will also be a valuable asset to my wife and who knows, the daughters that God may bring my way.”

The first copy of the book which was launched at the church’s new grand auditorium at Ahojo Nhyieso was taken by the General Overseer and Head Pastor of the Gracefields Evangelistic Ministries Rev Simon Ampofo.
