The Central regional police commander COP Rev David Neenyi Ampah- Bennin has called on the aggrieved nurses at the Cape Coast Metro Hospital to file a formal complaint at the Police Command concerning the alleged attacks on them by miscreants who the nurses claim attack them at the facility.
The police, he explains depends on documentary evidence to start the probe as the absence of it will jeopardise the success of investigation.
He explains that he only got to know of the case in the media; a situation he added isn’t good for criminal investigation as the said criminals could cover their tracks making investigation difficult in arresting them.
He however assured the nurses that the police command has intensified their patrols in the hospital enclave to make the place safe for the nurses to go about their duties.
Speaking to the media in Cape Coast after being honoured by the management of the Elmina Beach Resort on his promotion to Commissioner of Police Status, COP Ampah- Bennin explained that the command is increasing its patrols and visibility in the entire region to ward off potential attacks by miscreants.
He therefore called on residents to feel free to go about their duties as the police is committed to ensuring their safety.
He also called on the media to alert the police command on complaints and subsequent activities of criminals for immediate action on them before airing it so that such criminals don’t escape.
