Thornton Police Department officers are still searching for a suspect, NBC 9 reported. The local news station also reported FBI, ATF, and Aurora SWAT members were responding to assist local police officers.
The Thornton Police Department confirmed the deaths of two males and one female on its Twitter account. The police department also said the incident was not considered an "active shooter" situation, but an active crime scene.
Witnesses reported hearing multiple shots at the Walmart, and videos of the scene show an empty store with uniformed police officers nearby.
The shopping center contains several stores and restaurants, according to The Denver Post. Police warned people to stay away from the area.
