Chinese side Tianjin Teda to be probed by Chinese FA after 4-1 win over rival Tianjin Quanjian
Chinese Super League side Tianjin Teda are under investigation for match fixing after a 4-1 win to local rivals Tianjin Quanjian on Saturday, September 23, 2017.
Frank Acheampong scored a brace in the 25th and 26th minute in the local derby. In the 2nd half, Teda were able to dispose off their local rivals with a goal from Yuanyi Li and an own goal form Jie Wang.
The victory took Teda out of the relegation zone and got Quanjin to botch the chance to get into an Asian Champions League playoff spot.
The Chinese Football Association have issued a statement to that effect
“The Chinese Football Association has launched an investigation into the CSL game between Tianjin Teda and Tianjin Quanjian.
''A probe panel consisting of CFA's competition and legal departments, Committee for Ethics and Fair Play and a Disciplinary Commission will collect all available facts and evidence related to this game.
''Any violations of fair play would be severely dealt with according to the extant laws."
However, the speculations of match fixing have not deterred the form of Tianjin Teda verses the side won 3-1 against Guizhou Zhicheng on Wednesday, September 27, 2017.
