2018 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers: Three players to be dropped from Kwesi Appiah’s 26-man squad

John Boye, Thomas Agyapong and Afriyie Acquah are suffering from various degree of injuries

Kwesi Appiah will exclude John Boye, Thomas Agyapong and Afriyie Acquah from his 26-man squad for the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Uganda if their health doesn’t improve in the next couple of days.

Kwesi Appiah named a 26-man squad for the hurdle instead of 23 with the expectation that some of these players might not be declared fit to represent Ghana when they face Uganda on 6 October.

 

The head coach of the Black Stars will monitor their situation with their various European clubs over the weekend, before he takes a final decision.

Ghana will play against Uganda in Kampala, before they face Saudi Arabia on 10 October in an international friendly.

 

Ghana’s chances of qualifying for the 2018 FIFA World Cup is very slim, lying third in group E of the CAF zone behind Egypt and Uganda.
