Happy news! Sources have told People that Kim Kardashian and Kanye West will soon be welcoming their third child—a surrogate the couple hired is reportedly pregnant.
Kim and Kanye already have two children, 4-year-old North and 21-month-old Saint. Kim says she experienced complications with both pregnancies including early-onset pre-eclampsia and an unpreventable condition called placenta accreta, which occurs when the placenta attaches itself too deeply into the wall of the uterus. This means that the placenta may have difficulty detaching from the uterine wall, which can cause severe hemorrhaging.
Due to these complications, Kim and Kanye have known for a while that surrogacy might be a good option for them to expand their family.
"If the two doctors that I trust have told me it wouldn’t be safe for me to get pregnant again, I have to listen to that," Kim said on Keeping Up With The Kardashians in 2016. In the same episode, Kardashian met with a woman named Natalie who had given birth to one child and welcomed her second baby through surrogacy.

“I’m more worried, because I gave birth to two. There’s a sense in me that because I went through all that pain for these two babies and that I know we did this together.” Kim said. “There’s no one that would feel your love [like this baby], they are literally near your heart and inside of you... My bond with my kids is so strong. I think my biggest fear is that if I had a surrogate is, would I love them the same? That’s the main thing I keep thinking about.”
