Some Chile fans have blamed the attacker’s girlfriend for his recent struggles on the pitch.
Over 50,000 Chile fans are preparing to go on a protest demanding that Alexis Sanchez leaves his girlfriend, Mayte Rodriguez.
The 28-year-old has struggled for form in the early parts of the season, and came up for criticism after another below-par performance for his national side.

The attacker played as Chile lost 3-0 at home to Paraguay in the 2018 qualifying, before again losing 1-0 away to Bolivia five days later.
In a rather weird turn of events, some Chile fans have blamed Alexis’ poor form on the doorstep of his girlfriend.
The supporters have decided to show their seriousness by marching through the national stadium in Santiago, demanding that he parts ways with his girlfriend, with some believing that his return to bachelorhood will help him rediscover his form.

A Facebook page with 55,000 members started the protest, and till date thousands of Chile fans have shown interest in supporting the move.
