Spain star Pau Gasol surpassed French icon Tony Parker on Thursday as the all-time leading scorer in European Championship history by moving on to 1,111 career points.
The 37-year-old Gasol, an NBA team-mate of Parker's with the San Antonio Spurs, climbed to the top of the list with a 20-point effort in Spain's 87-64 group-stage victory over Hungary in Romania.
The veteran centre, who signed a new three-year deal with San Antonio in July, is a three-time European champion with Spain -- in 2009, 2011 and 2015.
Gasol eclipsed Parker's previous record of 1,104 points while German legend Dirk Nowitzki, set for his 20th season with the Dallas Mavericks, is third on 1,052.
